In a spurt of Divine Wrath history in the making, I am leading off the discussion on lucky Page 13. The panels are true...we did have beverages and extend our night into the early morning hours, the "Minions" were ninja-mage-level helpers with the ability to summon provisions and information at alarming rates, and we met some great new people and discovered some fans waiting to be entertained.
There is a story behind the panels, however, and with fair brevity, I will hit some brushstrokes of those special features. Again with the lists, since I'm all about things drenched in list-y, bulleted or numbered format.
1) The story behind the first panel is that we had some laughs, good times, and a long night ended abruptly with R3v and myself scuffling as we like to do in a playful test of dominance. The actual panel shows a random "get on my shoulders" occurrence before things turned violent. One note on that "Visa...it's everywhere you never want it to go."
B) None of the panels show Jason "Big Tuna" "SnakeEyes" "Jay" McGahen, our official D-Wrath staff photographer at the con, long-time friend, and my co-pilot for the blistering 12.5 (each way!) hour trip to NC from Buffalo, NY. He provided us with a number of useful electronic goodies including a radar detector that kept us at a steady 86 mph, without a single incident involving Johnny Law.
III) The Con was a great opportunity to spend time focusing on our labor of love, and really dig into what we need to do now and in the future, for the story and the fans. We will have the limited edition "Divine Wrath: The Epic Begins" t-shirts featuring battle-ready Deemos riding Max available to you all through this site at a later date, and rest assured that we are re-inspired to move this comic forward into the tasty bits of story coming along.
4) There are some really great young artists in R3v's area, and we had fun even though we were all tired, and unclean (except me).
Finally, one final important lesson learned: Cute is marketable, anime boy-love is really popular right now, and people digging what you put together is always worth the time spent on it.
Till next time,
T4nk
