Page 6 - "Where There's a Will"

Discuss the plot of Divine Wrath. Wait, what's a plot?

Page 6 is up, and it was a doozy. I think JJ is trying to test my artistic abilities with his scripts, but I hope I manage to bring to fruition what he has birthed from his literary womb....
Anyhow, yea, Im tired, so I cant really give any insight into this page at the moment.

Oh one thing, I did cut down shading on the panels to the point where they are almost non existent. Still not sure if I like it this way or not. Again, I am tired.

This ends the explanation of why Deemos was summoned.

sleep....

Yeah, the only problem with the cake is that everybody knows that the cake is a lie.

the cake is a lie!

Also, Johnny was true when he says I was testing him. I foolishly wrote a script for 6 that would have taken a whole graphic novel of its own to truly capture all the elements and text. Glad Rigs did a great job digging through it for the chewiest of morsels. In the original script, the cake had memory card sprinkles and wireless frosting.

Also trimmed, as it was the weakest scheme - yet described here for the fans...
- a panel with Johnny peeking through some shrubs into a clearing with a fountain and the xbox strapped to his back. The caption would say, "I took the xbox to the fountain of eternal life."

There you have it. Rigs took editorial freedom, and I like the finished product.

T4nk.

Broheim, this is a creative and collaborative process. I need you to make some tough calls when I give you a full-page script (which I will try to limit). Also, I will often just brain-dump all of my ideas (i.e.- the "alternate scenes") and let you pick the ones you want to put down.

In summary, I expect you to reel me in when I write too much, and on the other end, feel free to toss stuff back at me if you are looking for a different direction. I'm confident that you could do this whole thing on your own, I'm just happy to have a shot at bringing some characters to life with banter and such.

So yes, page 6 is good, I felt no wrathfullness. Page 7 script and two minis in your hot little inbox within the hour.

Sweet I love it when you toss sweet things into my hot...erm...box.... uhh...
.....y-y-y-y-eeeeeaaaahhhhh.............

Seriously I just felt bad because I couldnt really get ahold of you when I was putting it together. You had your game and I had no means to discuss it. Sigh. We need to live closer so that I can just come over, play some pool, and smoke cigars over fine cognac as we toss ideas back and forth, collaboratin' and what not.

In that reality, can also say things about the economy, and make really ignorant racist remarks while awkwardly trying to discuss systems of oppression while being at the very top of all of them...and wear monocles? Just a thought.

Seriously though, every time I am writing a script, I think about how cool it would be if I could bring it into a board room and the two of us could chat about it and decide on the best direction. There could be a water-cooler in the corner, and a big leopard-print beanbag chair to hit each other with.

I must admit, I feel hope for this comic, reading the interplay between writer and artist. Nothing like a little "no, really, we're both human," to keep things going ^_^

Just curious, any possibility of posting the unused concepts when that sort of thing happens? Heck, if they can get people to pay ten more bucks for "Deleted Scenes" on a DVD, might be worth a go.

I do rather wish the fountain of eternal life made the cut, it would go well with the slow progression from "sane" to "not sane," but I bet that would have been buggery to draw, and if I understand correctly, the good r3vr3nd has a real life (wow! sunlight! fresh air! women/men to interact/fornicate with (cross out preferred entries to complete the sentence)! Besides, in the end, can't get all the jokes in one go, and it did have a good selection.

TY for the comic, keep up the good work!

Oh, and keep with the digital cigars and booze. Healthier, and they wont make such a mess of the pool table...

Y'know JJ, Mr. Bright might be on to something here. Deleted scenes for a comic.
I like this.
Make it happen.

It might be funny for me to draw the panels that are trimmed from my scripts, since I have such a god-awful hand for drawing. Or have me draw the scene and Rigs draw the scene and have them side by side in the mini-box, haha. I like deleted scenes! Thanks for the suggestion Bright. May I call you Bright?
